Two Queens visit Sydney

Home

On 20 February 2007 the ocean liners Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth 2 made an historic visit to Sydney. QM2 is the largest vessel ever to visit Sydney Harbour and this is also the first time that the two 'Queens' (including the originals) have ever been in the Harbour together.

Thousands of Sydneysiders crammed the foreshores to view the QM2 arriving at 6am and hundreds of small water craft escorted her to the dock at Garden Island.

Shangrila made a visit to QM2 during the day and was at North Head to welcome QE2 when she arrived at 6.30pm. Naturally we were part of the flotilla to escort QE2 into the Harbour.
